2023 Dodge Hornet Styling and Interior Features
Like all compact SUVs, the 2023 Dodge Hornet is conveniently sized. Its interior is roomy enough for five adult passengers. It offers a significant amount of cargo space - much more than a mid-size sedan for five passengers.
Senior interior designer Jack Liu said designers drew inspiration for the Hornet's instrument panel from the dashboard of Dodge's mid-size SUVs. The driver-centric design places the large 12.3-inch screen - directly in front of the driver. The drivers can customize the screen, and it has clear graphics.
The center console controls, displays, and air vents are angled toward the driver. Liu said he wants to have everything a driver needs close at hand. Red stitching on the dashboard, seats, and armrests makes it clear that this is no ordinary CUV.
Standard GT and R/T trim seats use a combination of fabric and leatherette upholstery. The Track Pack option offers Alcantara leather seats with a suede-like texture. The Hornet GT Plus has leather-trimmed power-adjustable passenger seats. Red leather seats are also available.
The Hornet has conveniently located front and rear cup holders. It offers multiple 12-volt electrical outlets-one in front of the conventional gearshift lever, another in the center console, and a third in the trunk. It also has a GT Plus trim and a wireless charging pad. The media hub on the front has two USB ports; another pair of USB ports are standard for rear-seat passengers.
The Hornet provides an ample 27 cubic feet of cargo space with the seats in place. With the second-row seatbacks folded down, space increases to 54.7 cubic feet. These figures make the Hornet a comfortable CUV.
The Dodge Hornet comes standard with the Uconnect 5 infotainment system. Brad Giske, head of design for the Dodge UX, told us that the primary goal of the Hornet system was to make the two displays interact seamlessly.
You can configure the instrument cluster's 12.3-inch digital screen to display navigation instructions. The center-mounted 10.25-inch Uconnect infotainment display makes personalization easy. Owners and family members can set and save music preferences, heating and ventilation settings, and seating positions.
Passengers can connect two smartphones simultaneously, and Amazon Alexa integration facilitates simple and effective voice commands. Users can even use it to control Alexa-enabled home systems. The infotainment system is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
2023 Dodge Hornet Specs
The 2023 Dodge Hornet has two trim levels: GT and GT Plus. Both trims share the same engine, a 268-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder and 295 lb.-ft of torque. We will also offer the 2023 Dodge Hornet R/T, a performance hybrid that can reach a top speed of 128 mph and has a 0 to 60 time of 6.1 seconds. The Hornet R/T is coming this summer.
The Hornet will be equipped with all-wheel drive and a wide range of standard features from the base GT model, including keyless entry, 17-inch wheels, a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, a 10.25-inch central touchscreen, lane keep assist, blind spot warning, rear parking sensor, forward collision warning, 4G LTE hotspot, automatic wipers, and smartphone integration.
The Hornet GT Plus model will include a power liftgate, front seats with power ventilation, a navigation system, leather interior upholstery, and a wireless charging pad.
